A Cross the Hood

A few months ago I came across a random mixtape that was basically Justice's Cross Album mashed up with rappers.  So far everyone that I've played it for has loved it so now that I remember to put it up, here's the entire mixtape:

Frank Sinatra Remix?

Frank Sinatra remix you say? Just listen:

New York, New York Frank Sinatra (Chew Fu Big Room Fix)

Calvin Harris

I just discovered Calvin Harris and I have to say he sounds a lot like his Scottish counterpart Franz Ferdinand with a more electro flair. Check out these two songs from his 2007 Album "I Created Disco":

The Girls
Acceptable in the 80's

Strictly Rythm from Chris Lake and ATFC

Chris Lake releases a podcast with the newest house releases every month. You can grab that podcast here. The feature track from February is great:

Kid Cudi

This is a new Kid Cudi I just came across.  Its produced by Kanye and if you were a fan of Day 'n' Night your sure like the continued laid back spacey atmosphere of this tune.  Enjoy:

Basshunter Remix

This is just a remix of a Basshunter original (Boten Anna) that I just came across.  I like what they've done as far as mixing up the beat while staying true the the original songs melody.  Sorry the sound qualities not quite up to par, but its still worthy of raging to:

Gorillas and Autotune

Gorilla Zoe's been in the game for a minute and has usually put out decent material typical of his west coast home.  Recently, however, he seems to be stepping out of his box with tracks such as "Lost".  Some might accuse him of copying Kanye West's 808's and Heartbreak venture.  Although they are similar Gorilla Zoe puts his own twist on the style and makes it sound damn good.  This is a new exclusive track I just found that follows a similar style to that of "Lost".  It boasts a solid beat and Zoe's voice sounds pretty legit with his particular blend of autotune.  Enjoy:

First Post

As this is my first post on this prestigious blog I figured I'd give a little track list of some of the songs I've been listening to recently.  I tend to listen to pretty much everything but for this blog I'll focus on a mix between Beckett's electro/techno and Kyle's hippity-hop.  Some of these tunes are so exclusive they're crisp, others are a few years old, but all are baller.  Enjoy,

Deadmau5

Deadmau5 has been so prolific lately its been hard to keep track of all of his....tracks. I just discovered this remix on youtube, pretty amazing sound:

The Prodigy - Everybody in the Place (Deadhaus remix)

Hey Champ

We saw these guys on NYE 2009 in Chicago. Hey Champ has a great sound that varies from a slower, synthy Cold Dust Girl to their Cracktown Remix which has a more edgy feel. Checkout their myspace page to listen to these tracks. And if you need more than just my word, Mark Ronson loves them as well.

Another Great Track from Feed Me

Those who tuned in a couple weeks ago may remember the Feed Me remix of Chris Lake's If you Only Knew. Feed me is at it again but this time on an indie track:

Rogues - Not So Pretty (Feed Me Remix)

The more times I listen to it the more I love it, the synth background gives this track an extraterrestrial feel.

N(orth) A(merica) S(outh) A(merica)+Europe = Techno Remix

So NASA just came out with their new album and lo and behold, it has already been remixed. Here is my favorite track:

A Volta (database remix)

It is emblematic of the newest brand of dance music. The best of hip hop beats mixed with a techno line and even some robot vocals reminiscent of daft punk. You can find the rest of the NASA remixes at discodust.

Pjanoo is Pronounced "Piano"

This is a great track from Eric Prydz if you haven't already heard it. In the past year it has become a sort of "Ecstasy of Gold" for House DJs, Pete Tong in particular usually begins his podcasts with it. I don't have a download link, but here is the music video...it has an Indian in the Cupboard theme which is pretty stupid, but the music is great.
